Java keeps blocking an application because of "my security settings"

There's this new app at work that is a complete piece of crap and I always have to fight to try to get it to load. New problem every time. Now it won't run because Java keeps blocking it. I wish Java would just die in a fire and people would stop coding crap in it. Anyway I found a video that shows what to do, problem is I don't get ANY of those options in the security tab.

All I get is a certificates option and the rest of the dialog is blank.

This started when one of my monitors decided to go blank and it completely screwed up my entire windows session and I had to force stop Firefox and all the stuff that was open. OS is Windows 7.

This stuff is run by the same company that runs the healthcare.gov website, their code is beyond horrible and full of issues. We need to run really old versions of java for anything to work.

Any way I can change the security settings or at least add an exception?

Java isn't the problem. Lazy, crappy coding is the problem. That is indeed the place to fix it. If you don't see anything, chances are your company has locked down the Exceptions List panel. Have you worked with your workplace IT or IT Governance group?

True the crappy code does not help, and our work place is filled with it thanks to the fact that they outsource it all.

I may have gotten it to work for now. I had a browser issue at one point and decide to re-install Firefox, but found out the hard way that Firefox 64 bit does not support Java but that was only after trying to reinstall Java. So now I got the old version of FF back and was able to uninstall the newer version of Java and looks like the old ones stayed in the system.

Not sure how long it will work for though as it seems every time I need to launch this stupid app there's a new problem.
