JAVA IDEs under Linux

is it just me or are the Java IDEs under Linux terribly slow. Forte 2.0 ( by SUN ) brings my PIII 800Mhz with 192MB RAM to its knees, Borland's JBuilder 4 is even more punishing. I still havent tried Visual Age, but I have a feeling that it will be slow as well. To be honest I really like the concept of visual development for Java ( ala VB ), but if the performance hit is so great while developing I'd rather stick to emacs 🙂 anyone else has any comments on this subject?
