Java certification

Hi everyone, I'm new to these boards, this being my first post. I apologize if the Distributed Computing forum is the wrong one for this question. Anyways, I'm wondering about Sun's new Web Component Developer certification. It says on Sun's web site that this certification will be available July 31. Anyways, does anyone know if any books (study guides) will be available soon specifically for this course. I use JSPs and servlets at work, but I'm doing pretty simple stuff (a lot of the same stuff over and over). There's no way I want to read 10 different books to learn all I need to know for the test. I e-mailed Sybex to ask them if they'll be coming out with a guide, but they haven't gotten back to me yet. If there won't be any guides right away, can someone recommend maybe a couple books which will help me fully prepare for the exam.

Thanx.

This is NOT your first post. You posted a whopping 3 minutes earlier, spamming the same thing in the highly technical forum, simply changing a couple words (namely, the forum). Please don't spam us.

BurntKooshie you are completely out of line. no matter if he did spam or not, if he is out of line the moderators will take care of him. not you! you just lost a point in my book pal.

as for your question ChrisScott, This is not the correct forum you probably want gaming and programming, however as with any major exam I am sure that guides will come out to help you prepare for them it really depends on how knowlageable you are with Java as to if you will need these refrences. I would try and read up on what the exam is spose to certify you in it will probably be availible if it is not already there. I hope this somwhat answered your question before you by anything read up as much as you can about what the exam is sapose to cover. 🙂

I will come out of my seclusion to back up BK on this.

narzy, you sir are the one out of line, if you would do a search on the guy's nickname over all the forums, you might be surprised to find out he asked the exact same question in 2 other forums. First being in the software forum, second being in the Highly technical forum which was moved to the OS forum by the moderator there, and then 3 minutes later he posts here.

It was very reasonable to assume that this guy was planning on spamming every forum in search of this, despite what each forum is about.

then the guy has the gall to come back in here and call BK an idiot claiming he asked a legitamate question. Well guess what, he already asked the legitamate question twice before.

He did not say thanks to you narzy, he instead ignores your help and just attacks BK.

not a very good way to start posting here.

I realize narzy, that you are just trying to get a new member in our ranks and ignore the fact that this guy could easily be spamming just for the hell of it. While we all ask completely off topic questions in this forum, it is almost always after you have been working for TA for a while or otherwise become a respected member in this forum.
