Are their any java VPN clients out there? I need VPN access to my home network from school computers, but they do not have a windows VPN adapter. Does anyone know of a decent VPN Client written in java for the PPTP Protocol?

Considering VPN setup uses a virtual LAN connection, I don't think you're likely to find such a thing. Java may not have the capability to run and create a network connection of its own.

Win98 and higher has a built-in VPN client, though it may need to be installed or configured.

Why not just use FTP or ssh or something if you just need access to files?

It's not access to files I need. I need my Remote Desktop Connection, and do not want to leave port 3389 open because the data is not encrypted. If I log in via a VPN I will have encrypted data. I know that you can enable encryption on Remote Desktop (in gpedit.msc), but I do not know how secure that is.

You can tunnel any protocol (including remote desktop connection) through SSH and encrypt all data. Maybe this would be an option??

Has what built in? A VPN Server? Yes it does, but I need a client on a machine where I don't have access to all the computer configurations. I figured a java client might work, but i can't find one.
