Even though Flash is unavoidable for me, I have stayed away from Java as best as I can. Why are these two software programs so insecure and buggy?

You would think after a decade of fixes.......sigh.

One of our banks require Java to be running in the browser. It must Java 7 update 11. Anything newer and the site doesn't work.

I guess the good news is that only the accounting department requires this old version of Java to be installed. :hmm:

Many of the websites I visit require Java, never had a problem with it.

But what's interesting, is whatever happened to the skipped updats? They released Java 8 like 10 days ago, then they jumped to update 5?

whatever happened to update 1, 2, 3, and 4?

Thanks.

Is it safe to replace java 7 with 8 now?
The only problems I have read about were XP users. It's been fine for me on Win7 and Win8.1. I figured that it should be more secure than Java 7, but that is wishful thinking perhaps.

Yea, what is up with that. I have a client that is in the same thing. If you go too new it wont work. except I have to balance 3 banks and they seem to want different things 😡
