Was at my mall's food court today, pizza just looked too disgusting to have AGAIN. So I tried Subway's Sweet Onion Chicken Teriyaki. Got it toasted, white bread, provolone, lettuce, and mayo. It was a delicious sandwich.

Does it make you happy that you ate a $2 sandwich and paid $7 for it? Those ingredients can be found anywhere.

7 dollars - what kind of subway do you visit? Maybe all of the ones aroudn here are just cheap, but I've never found Subway to be expensive.....

Tubby's Subs - 12" famous plus a 44oz drink - $4.50

That guy is a fake. His story is that he walked to subway every day as if it was a long journey, the subway is about an hour from where I used to live and he lived above it in an apartment. He also had his stomach stapled. Good thing subway was the only thing that got him thin

I think you're paying for the service and the ingredients.

I wonder how much it would cost you to carry around an oven and an inventory of all those different ingredients and bread to be able to stop in the mall and make your own fresh toasted sandwich.

Heh, like people need to live past 50. I'll take the large 14" hot cook to order pepper steak w/ onions and everything on it at a real manwich shop, thank you very much.

The 6" sandwich, chips, and a drink came to $5.82. More than pizza but worth it.

The sandwich alone was $3.99. A BIT much compared to fast food, but again, worth it.

same can be said for any restaurant.
But at least in a restaurant, they prepare your food SOMEWHAT well. Subway employees (sorry, Sandwich Artisans) slop all the ingredients on a piece of bread, mumble "Anything else?" and take your hard-earned cash. No cooking, presentation or ambience involved.

I stopped going there once I thought about how expensive it is.

Make your own god damn sandwich if you want healthy and cheap. WTF's wrong w/ people infatuated w/ overpriced "health" food?

Did you even read the context of the thread?

I was in a MALL. Sorry I forgot to pack a lunch.

Besides, I'd like to see someone here make me as good a sandwich as that one was (all you chefs out there are not eligible).

Where in Pennsylvania are you?

A little north of Pittsburgh.

Why? I see you're in Philly, did you want to make me a sandwich better than Subway's? 😀

Subways and Chinese food are probably the cheapest foods I can find around me. Subways is the sandwich chain I usually eat in, but Quizno's tastes better. Blimpies (used to?) charge per topping (topping?), so I don't eat there.
