Japanese vs US voltage

I'm moving to Tokyo in about a month. I'm planning on buying a new plasma TV while over there. My only question is whether the it will be compatible once I come back to the States. I know the plugs are the same. My concern is voltage (50hz vs 60hz, etc...)

Anyone lived there and have experience with this?

(search for japan)

q
Eastern Japan 50 Hz (Tokyo, Kawasaki, Sapporo, Yokohoma, and Sendai);
Western Japan 60 Hz (Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, Hiroshima)
/q

it won't be a problem if the specs say it can switch between 50/60hz and the voltages. (like this one: http://www.plasmatvbuyingguide.com/plasmatv/samsung-hpr5052.html )

if it doesn't do anything with the voltage, thats a problem.

these should do the job:

make sure you get one that has enough watts/amps.
(to convert between the two see: http://www.powerstream.com/Amps-Watts.htm )

you may get better prices for the transformers via ebay.
