Japan vs. South Korea

They're fighting over some small islands right now... I think this scenario is much more plausible than UK vs. Israel...

I personally wouldn't mind seeing the Koreans whooping the Japanese's a$$. Revenge is so very very sweet.
 
Why would South Korea whoop Japan? Japan has a more powerful military and could easily transform several industries into purely military producing factories.

when ww2 ended, japan chose to abandon their military.
 
We are heavily allied with S. Korea due to the North Korean problem of which we never officially ended. (Remember, we merely signed a cease-fire with North Korea, technically the War isn't even over). Therefore it would be impossible to have a conflict with South Korea without Japan being involved. And seing how the North Koreans started the First Korean War due to South Korean weakness, and judging by the pure insanity of the current leader of North Korea, North Korea would most likely invade South Korea if Japan were to do so as well and push them both off. Thus sparking more conflicts with allies.

Japan would easily destroy Korea.

Some countries have long histories of being conquerors; they have a killer instinct that enables them to fight well. Other countries have a history of being a feeder goldfish; they seem to easily get their asses handed to them no matter what the circumstances.

Japan. North Korea is the military, South Korea is the technology. Mind you, I can't say for sure since I've never personally examined their collection of nuclear weapons. 🙂

Japan has a top 5 military budget. I believe they devoted themselves to becoming a self-defense force after WW2.

Japan probably has the second or third largest Navy in the whole world. They spend 1% of their GDP on their military. Think about it for a second. Do some research on it before making assumptions.

but honestly...what kind of war could go down there that we woudlnt get ginvolved. we have many bases there...we are freinds with them...and when do we ever let people just kill others

Doesn't France have a history of both a conqueror and a feeder goldfish? Even China use to be a world power befor the stagnation in the 17th century. Technology has changed the field IMHO.

South Korea advanced a lot unlike 50 years ago when Japan had all the technological/economic advantages.

Silly Japanese. The moment they acquired rifles from Spain, they decided to attack Korea first thing.

It was literally guns vs bone arrows. Japan advanced quite a bit until Korea got help from China and they owned them using canons.

I believe this is between 1860-80s.
 


If it depend on the navy, Japan would kick butt, it has one of the most modern navy in the world, second to the US. Its Aegis missile cruisers/destroyers would make short work of the Koreans. The Japanese diesel/electric subs are also the best in the world. The S. Korean has a much better army though
