Also I think a lot of their success also came from a cheap labor force. Once their standard of living rose up to something similar to ours, i.e. their cheap labor force wasn?t cheap anymore, the world went else where looking for cheap labor. That is why everything now days seems to be ?made in China? Eventually China?s standard of living will increase and the world will again go looking for cheap labor.

They also have Six Sigma LE
And Six Sigma for Students and Teachers.

They were working on an update called Seven Sigma, but beta testers complained that it actually caused quality to go down.

There's a lot of truth to that, although I'm not sure it's fair to say that the rest of the world caught up. I don't think the U.S. was ever as successful at implementing TQM as the Japanese were. Our cars never got there, nor did our electronics, with the exception of computers (maybe).

I totally respect the Japenese way of business and their success and efficiency at it. They're just about the only country that rivals us as far as efficiency and economy.

Wow, what a gross misunderstaning of what 5s is. All it's about is how you arrange your desk at work, and the process(think order and flow.) by which work is carried out. It's a common sense thing spelled out for those lacking common sense, and strictly workplace oriented. Nothing more.
