Japan is the most racist country

So there is this famous part of tokyo called Roppongi. Its where all the americans and foreigners go to get drunk and buy stuff and have a good time. There are a large amount of foreigners living in the area as well. Basically the Japanese government is tired of them having fun....

They are effectivly closing down all the clubs there because they are clubs where are high volume of foreigners go to. My one friend owns 3 three clubs in the area. They arrested him, took his stuff, went through his books to make sure he got his house and cars legally, and more. After a few days they let him go and gave his stuff back but just the fact that they do that is crazy.

Technically its illegal to have a club open past 1am but they are basically only targeting clubs where americans go. I think a lot of people think that Tokyo is a international city. It is in the sense that there is a lot of different things going on and a lot of commerce from other countries...but walk the streets, you see 99% japanese people.

whoa! when i walk the streets of my town i see 100% US people! WTF!? we do a LOT of commerce from other cuntries also!

Well, considering Japan does not give citizenship to non-Japanese residents who have been living there for generations, I am not surprised.

Japan has always been a very racist country, up until the most recent generation for the most part. Nice place to visit and look at, but probably not to live there for too long.

From what I hear. Its really not a nice place to visit. Everyones xenophobic. Lost in translation would not really happen there... personally, I dont' really care. I can always visit other countries (thailand, china, laitn america, etc..) that are much more accommodating.

In my experience in Texas asian people are often more racists, especially against blacks, than white people. Prob. a lack of education of the older generation just like all racism is usually due to ignorance than anything else.

What? You live in a white-bread town? No one currently from overseas anywhere in your area at all? That's got to be oneof the oddest things I've ever heard.

And to think, Illinois has Chicago in it.....guess only U.S. people live there, too. No one from Japan, Korea, China, Taiwan, England, France, Spain, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, or most any other country ever sets foot in Illinois.....geeeeeez.

I find it odd in that my small town of 20K people has quite a representation of foreigners....not U.S. citizens, but actual foreigners, working on visas and really don't have aninterest in becoming a U.S. person.....and yet your town has none at all.

Guess there is no one working on work visas there, either.

BTW...it's well-known that Japanese tend to look down on other races.....and they include as "other races" Koreans, Chinese, Taiwanese.....all inferior to Japanese. White westerners are even worse in their eyes. Look back to how other nationalities/races were treated by the Japanese in WWII......the Chinese really took it bad from the Japanese, who looked on the Chinese as nothing better than dogs. Same treatment the Koreans got from the Japanese.

Not to say things aren't changing, but a long history of that ingrained into each child...hard to shake.

.

why is it odd? not all areas are very populated. my town has maybe 300 people in it (farming area. so yeah not many from other country's). even the surrounding towns are the same. just no reason for someone from a different nation come to a farm. though we did have some from the Netherlands come to talk to the school about wind farms.

biggest irony of japanese hating koreans so much is, most japanese have ancestors in korea. migration of people from china to korea to japan.

it's not just japanese, koreans or asians etc that are racists. most homogeneous cultures (where a very high majority are all the same race) tend to be that way.

Korea for a long time was known as the hermit country.

If you don't like them, then stop buying their crap.

lol i never said i didnt like japanese. I want to go back there and live there for a few years as soon as I can. They are very friendly and the young population that i got to know really don't hold much against you at all. Just pointing out how racist parts of the culture can be and how strict the government is. I mean...In Japan you can get arrested and they legally dont have to tell you why, or give you a phone call, or a lawyer for like 26 days or something....how ****** up would that be.

the old people are probably still pissed over the US dropping a nuclear bomb on them i would be kinda of too if i was living there and saw it happened. My uncle went over there awhile back and he said they don't like foreigners to much
