Does anyone care about this band anymore?

I liked them a lot when I was in high school and undergrad and I will probably get the new album.

I know that it doesn't take long for a band to fade out of being known and that these guys haven't done anything in a while either. Does anyone here under 30 really know anything about them and, if so, are they just an old guys band to you?

"Jane says:
I'm done with Sergio
He treats me like a ragdoll."

Great song. Haven't heard their new album yet.

I didn't realize they were coming out with a new album, but will definitely pick it up when it comes out

New album "Strays" came out today. I also heard they're headlining Lollapoloza this year - don't know if they've done that since they started it.

Jane's Addiction website with new song previews.

just thought I'd give this a bump. I "purchased" the album and after a few listens it's really starting to grow on me. If you're a fan of the old stuff, go and get it!

Great. I haven't heard anyone else talk about it and I only listened to one of the website songs. I was wondering if they would try to change their sound, but I'll be glad if they didn't.

Strays rocks!

Most band who make comebacks like this after years away, or who simply put out albums for this long... suck. But Starys is definitely filled with new tensions, and verve. Besisdes, I would pick up anything that Stephen Perkins beats skins on! To have tham back together is just fabulous. :)

It would be hard for any band to equal the greatness of Nothing's Shocking. There have been so very few bands that put out an album of that calibre, and then do it again.

agreed.....although I would say Ritual De Lo Habitual comes pretty damn close to Nothing's Shocking.

I would agree that Nothing's Shocking is better overall, but Three Days off Ritual is really one of their better songs in my opinion. But then again I guess that depends on what you're in the mood for listening to also.

I have no idea if this album is any good, but at least any time Flea spends working with JA can't be spent making another horrible Red Hot Chili Peppers album. RHCP were one of my favorite bands in the mid-to-late '80s, but they have SUCKED for at least the last ten years.

I couldn't agree more. I have every album they put out, even some singles and a box set. But after I heard Californication it was over.

I'm listening to Strays right now. Some of the songs really rock. I am so glad they let Navarro solo like the good old days. What has happened to the guitar solo the past 5 years? Someone decided they weren't necessary so a bunch of weak musicians are now in big named bands playing power cords over and over. Not JA, thankfully.

I haven't heard anything as trippy as "Ted Just Admit It" but I'm not done with the album yet.

Never underestimate Perry Farrell to deliver the goods.

p.s. Re: RHCP, Californication was a great album. Parralell Universe, Emit Remmus, etc. are great songs. But yeah almost everything after Mothers Milk was bad.

They still get publicity because of RHCP and Navaro. Their songs were alright, but they seemed like they tried too hard to be F'ed up sometimes.

I'm under 30 and I know nothing about Jane's Addiction except that they suck. Local rock station's been playing their song Just Because 2-3 times a day and its horrible.
