he has to be a football player, why else would Jamie call him Doug Floutie at the end? hahaha

I'm pretty sure he said Doug Christie

regardless, that was pretty funny
He said doug christie because doug christie used to play for the kings. And since he was making fun of Shaq who was on the lakers (who were big rivals of the kings) Foxx decided to call him Christie for kicks.

That was hard to watch.

The poor guy couldn't tell if he should play along or if he should go postal.

As I said, that's why I think it's kind of an unfair situation for the comic. He's a black comic being heckled, relentlessly, in an unfunny way, by a huge A-list movie star who also happens to be perhaps THE biggest black actor in show business at the moment, in front of a huge audience and TV cameras. He really can't return fire without putting his entire career on the line. Meanwhile, Foxx can pick and pick and pick without any repercussions.

Jamie Foxx hater in the house! Really though, don't you think that lady was a tad uncomfortable about the guy talking about her weight? And you can clearly see everyone else was getting perturbed. Too me it seems it was his way of telling the guy he crossed the line.

Cry me a river - it's a roast! There is no line. From the old Friar's Club roasts to the present, the whole point of a roast is that nothing is out of bounds for the guy at the podium. I do think it's out of line for another person on the dais to prevent a comic from finishing, though. I still say Foxx was coked up.

I think the Doug Christie bit had more to do with Christie being known as the most whipped professional athlete in history... it was just another insult... read this

The comedian looks like the geeky guy who played opposite Will Smith in Fresh Prince.

Kinda dirty pool by Jamie IMO - his ego is just bottomless. If I were that comic I'd want to break his jaw. Jamie seemed coked up or something - otherwise, he really is an incredible asshole.

Did you see the guy trying to make jokes? He needed some help.

He's a retired football player not a comedian. Kind of makes it an unfair smackdown. Imagine Jamie Foxx playing a nice friendly game of touch football and having Lawrence Taylor pile drive him for coming accross the middle. Seems an apt metaphor...

Ignore this post, it wasn't Doug Williams the football player... :Q

Regardless, I was laughing my ass off.

I can agree. Jamie is a pro...the guy is an amateur; Jamie should have helped or kept his mouth shut. He knows he may not think things that the audience thinks are funny are.

He was funny with the Shaq stuff at times, but Jamie I think took his comments personally. Still the roast was about Smith...and the guy was all over the place.
