James Doohan gets a star?

Heh ... take a walk down hollywood blvd sometime. You probably won't recognize the majority of the "stars" on there.

Oh I know that... and have done that.

actually now that I take the time and look him up he's actually been in a ton of movies. Some Ive actually heard of.
 
Dude He was a better actor than Shatner or Nimoy..
he deserves the star.. he rocks..
notice that Shatner and Nimoy didnt even show up..

WELL deserved!!!!!

I had the pleasure of seeing him in person at 3 Star Trek conventions (and getting to talk to him one-on-one for a few minutes at one of those conventions). What a wonderful, personable, friendly, and funny man he is!

So sad to see his health failing 🙁
 
All you have to do is have someone support you and pay $5k to get your name on there, so yes he deserves it. He's worth more than $5k, so why not? If Cameron Diaz can make it on there (and you know she will some day if she hasn't already), he should be on there too.

i noticed that. i heard that each group hates each other so its not suprising.
 
The ceremony for the Star was his last public appearence. And he looked like he was lost during the ceremony.

For those who don't know, James Doohan has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. And it looks to be advancing quite fast. 🙁
 
Actuially it's $15K now to 'nominate' someone to recieve a star. His fans nominated him, he didn't pay for it himself.

That really sucks. 🙁 I never got a chance to meet him. The only member of the original cast I've ever met was Walter Koenig (Chekov).
