James Carville, distinguished speaker

Isn't that an oxymoron?
Depends on your definition of "distinguished", I guess. He's smart, funny and very savvy in a political sense. He is, obviously, very left-leaning so someone who leans the other way isn't going to enjoy anything he has to say, no matter how well put. Which pretty much sums up why this thread is utterly pointless since it was started by one who would rather gnaw his own hand off than have to listen to something he's already quite sure he doesn't agree with.

Ditto.

I've only seen him on Crossfire, which isn't the best venue. He's not an eloquent speaker and his opinions are certainly far to the left(especially in the US), but he does have a unique style with a Southern flavor. The idea of "distinguished" (re: set apart, unique)has more to do with "presentation" than past accomplishments(though that could also make one distinguished) or even persuasiveness.

James Carville - "Distinguished Speaker"

HA, only thing I ever heard him do was extol the virtues of klinton.

It is funny that his wife's views are 180° from his.

Yeah, funny how some people are open-minded enough to look beyond simply party affilition when judging the character of another....

Whoops....wrong place for that observation. Carry on.

What's your point?
Is it that hard to figure out?

Fausto1, I actually do like to hear from guys like Carville from time-to-time. He's at least good for a laugh or two. Occasionally I'll go to a Richard Gephardt speech (I'm in his district, sad to say)....same thing, amusing to listen to, totally devoid of content. At least Gephardt's speeches are free.....Who in the hell would pay $45 to listen to Carville?
