Jamal Lewis

He's only been in the league for 4 years. He needs 48 more yards for the record

I don't think he deserves it. Nor do I think Priest Holmes deserved the touchdown record...sure sure, they did it, but I don't see either of them as going down among the all-time greats. They earned them fair and square, but I just prefer seeing records in the hands of the true hall of famers.

Who's to say that Jamal Lewis and Priest Holmes won't be in the hall of fame when they are done with their careers? Priest has 51 TD's over 2 seasons, and I bet he still has a few seasons left in him. I guess that it doesn't really make sense to me that you think that the records should only belong to "true hall of famers". These guys are still playing the game and improving their skills to break these records.

Jamal Lewis is 24 yrs old and has played in the league 3 years.

His yards those 3 seasons were

1364 Yards
1327 Yards
1952 Yards (before tonights game).

I dunno, but to be that young and tearing it up like that. I could see him going down as an all time great if he can keep it up for the majority of his career.

A lot of running backs are great for a few seasons, until they sustain a huge injury and are never the same, or something of that nature. Sure, its possible that these guys could keep up what they are doing...but to me they don't seem like the next coming of Barry Sanders or Emmitt Smith or anything like that. Kurt Warner was the highest rated career QB in NFL history after a few seasons...where is he now?

Did you know that Jamal Lewis has torn the ACL ligament in both knees? A lot of people didn't think Priest would be the same after his hip injury last season. All warner had was a pinky injury last year on his throwing hand, and he hasn't been the same since. Terrell Davis is a good example of a great running back that had a lot of bad luck because of multiple injuries in his career.

Yea, they've both had their best seasons after the injury. I still don't see them playing at this level 6, 7 years from now. That's what being a great running back is all about...resiliancy. We'll see, maybe I'll be wrong.

Stover needs to miss this FG so Jamal Lewis can break the record in OT 🙂

Edit #1 I mean Richey

Edit #2 He missed it. OT here we come
