Jailbreaking - no point

Until the devices allow the owner, the end user, to customize to their liking then there will always be a need/desire for this.

The OP is nothing but a troll post.

If you want to be so certain that it's needed no more go right ahead and back it up! :biggrin:

IMHO the biggest reason why I still do it is because of iAds. Can't stand any program that randomly puts a full screen video ad of a silly game that can't be closed down.

I will never, EVER support a developer or agency that resorts to such tactics. I will, however strip your code and use your app for FREE and not feel bad about it, PERIOD.

If your ads were not intrusive and I wanted to use the app without them, I'd have no problem buying/supporting it.

The same is true with websites.

Start that crap, you get blocked. Block access (cough, tweaktown, forbes, etc.) then I either refuse visiting OR will grease monkey your butt and still view without the obnoxious ad trail.
 
Yea, troll post. You would jailbreak now for the same reason you jailbreaked before.

#1 to pirate software
#2 to use networking apps that directly controlled data connections like for tethering.
#3 needed bluetooth access higher than the user accessible bluetooth stack allows.
#4 full fledge system backup tools.

Umm, speaking of trolls. You support stealing from a developer's pocketbook rather than watching a 5-10 second ad?

I paid to remove ads in the Ookla Speedtest.net mobile app, Words with Friends, and a few others. No problem at all supporting apps that I use regularly.

Wait until you have some POS app that randomly puts a 30 SECOND long clip with sound. And the only way to bail is to double click home and swipe up! Unacceptable.

I've spent over $20k on itunes purchases in 9 years time and spend probably half of that a year on iOS and Android hardware. I refuse to let others dictate what I can do and such with MY hardware. I don't lease or borrow, everything is mine on the day I take ownership.

And that's where the problem lies.

As for the speedtest app, never gave them $0.99 because to be honest the ads never really annoyed me that much. 😉

I also rip movies because I can't stand menus and unskippable previews. When I hit play, I want the movie I wanted to watch to play. ^_^
 
I dont think the advantages outweigh the disadvantages anymore. I only miss Activator... almost all the other features I care about have been copied and integrated by apple.
 
I moved from Android to iOS when the 6+ came out and I haven't felt the need to jailbreak. I was constantly rooting my Android devices, installing new roms, troubleshooting those roms, trying different builds and upgrading all the time. It felt like I never got to use the phone at all because of it. I never felt like I was missing anything when I switched to an iPhone so I never looked into jailbreaking it.

Actually now that I think about it, the main reason I rooted my Android devices was because updates were late and I could get the latest OS by rooting and installing a rom. I didn't have to wait for slow as mud Samsung to update it.
