I have an unlocked iPhone that I bought outright from TMo when they first released it. At the time, I bought an app called DiskAid in order to extract things like call history and VMs. Worked fine under OS X, but not so fine under Windows.
Then late last year I forced myself to upgrade the iOS to 8.x so I could install the British Airways app as I was planning a trip to Europe. Hated the results and missed the look and feel of the iOS 6.x that was originally on the iP5.
Then DiskAid's author decided not to support iOS7/8 using the DiskAid app and created a new app for newer iOS support, and had to double-purchase to continue to be able to d/l my call history and VMs. I declined. Sorry, no double-dipping permitted in my household.
I now wonder if I should go the jailbreak route. Not to steal software, but maybe one of the JB methods might include utilities to continue d/l call history and VMs.
Also, I noticed recently on YouTube someone has a s/w that allows for iOS downgrading, but that assumes you made a copy of an older iOS from that tool prior. I thought maybe my wife's iP5 still on iOS6 could be used as a surrogate.
Anyway, if anyone knows of a way to d/l call histories and VMs for free I would greatly appreciate it. Why such basic functionality isn't made natively available is bewildering considering the cost of these handsets.
