hmm...

Private prisons are such a fail. People profiting off getting people into jail

The Metropolitan Detention Center, Brooklyn (MDC Brooklyn) is a United States federal administrative detention facility in Brooklyn, New York City which holds male and female prisoners of all security levels. It is operated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, a division of the United States Department of Justice.

This wasn't a private prison you moron.

To be fair a lot of county/local prisons are "for profit" but the profit comes from the state and goes to the county/local government.

The New Orleans Parish Prison is notorious for not releasing you until after midnight even if you paid your bail at 9am because at 12:01AM the prison gets paid for holding you the entire day. It is not a private prison but it's virtually run like one.

IMHO the above is worse than private prisons. The very entity that sentences you profits from your incarceration.

The doctors are employed by a private company. Or I thought? Did I read that wrong?

Let's not make this political. Too many dick jokes to make and not enough time.

Oops you are right it is. For profit too.

Public run healthcare in Hospitals can be just as bad as private though. Case in point California. All state run, and now under Federal receivership due to continued gross violations of inmates rights.

Hope you're being sarcastic. I've never heard of prisons tying up inmates and boiling them alive. In fact, they got it better than us. 3 hots and a cot! With all the man sex you could ask for. If that's your thing of course. :)

If you read the link, systemic torture is a problem with US prisons. Getting cooked in a hot cell for long periods of time is probably something you might want to think about before saying they've got it better than us.

Obviously I don't know what this condition is, but.... can't he just fap in the cell? What medical attention could possibly help with this?

They shove a catheter in the artery and drain the blood. Look up Priapism.

You know when they say go to the dr after 4 hours....... They mean it.

Fuck man, give a warning or something...... My junk still hurts like hell just from the thought of warning "shoving a catheter in and drain the blood".

We had a private prison in Ontario.

Failed pretty badly. Closed up in a short time.
The experiment failed.

That's good to know. I heard Harper wants to build more prisons, but maybe that's some old news and it's done now. All part of the "tough on crime" thing. Honestly never really read much into the private vs public prison systems, I just know I never want to go to either one. :p

I saw one where it was too late, they had to slit the penis like a weiner before cooking. There's this spider that if you get bit, it causes basically a permanent errection till you get help. I don't remember the details, but I'm going to take a wild guess and say that spider is found in Australia.

I always see those erectile dysfunction commercials and they say contact your doctor if you have an erection lasting longer than four hours, but man! I would love to have her reverse cowgirl all night. LMAO! But seeing this screw that!

That's awful.

You idiots complaining about private prisons, learn to read. It's not private prison, and even if it were, I'm certain these kinds of things happen in private and public institutions alike. The medical care was contracted through a private company -- a lousy one with a history of bad things.

Terrible. Beyond the guy getting paid -- which doesn't really fix his life -- those responsible for his treatment (the doctors he saw, the guards who didn't allow him medical care etc) need to be held accountable.

Honestly, private prisons have nothing to do with this discussion. The over-arching theme of how we treat those in our custody should be in the limelight, whether they are in a private prison, one run by the federal government, or one run by state and local governments.

The people we keep in custody, even the ones that have done inhumane things, should be treated humanely, and that means proper medical care.
