Jagged Alliance 2 NOCD

Hi,

I recently had the need ... the need for JA2 play! When, I installed the game, patched to 1.6 (I think it's 1.6, anyway, the lattest version).

[1] One more thing I noticed, is that after installing the patch (and before the no-cd patch, so with all original stuff), when I start the game I ear sound but no image ... I have to change to windows (I use the windows-start key on keyboard), and then switch back to the game. Any known issue about this? Installed it 2 times with same results.

[2] Since I just love this game, I want to keep my original CD safe in the box, it doesn't have a single scrach, and I don't intend to accidentaly put any scrach nowadays. So I search the web for a NO-CD patch, and found only one ... for 1.6 version. Installed it, and then everytime I start the game, he just refuses to, and my windows gives me an error, asking me if I want to send the info about the error (which I select "Don't Send"). Has anyone seen this?


Any Info on that side of line?

Sounds like you're running under XP -- did you try the Win95/98 compatibility modes?

I took some time to answer, but here I am ...

Well, I'm running on Windows XP, and wenever I try to start the game with Program Compatibility of WinXP, he just refuses to, and my windows gives me an error, asking me if I want to send the info about the error (which I select "Don't Send"), the same error I posted before ...

One more thing ... runing with CD in drive, the game often crashes, I just here music and see the same picture ... no mouse or anything ... I can, however do Ctrl+Alt+Del and Task Manager to force it to close ...

I've ran JA2 on Win2K, was a while since I played last, but I don't think I had to enable compatilbity mode...
I'll try it out when I get home and see what I come up with, never had any problems, so it should be painless me thinks

Ok, once again Im drunk, but I did try JA2 out, works like a charm in Win2K, no compatibility mode or anything.

Now, for #1
You can find my full spec in my sig, buy my soundcard is a Turtle Beach Santa Cruz, sounds works fine right out of the box.

For #2, I'm using a noCD patch, works fine as well, it's for build 02.06.11.

Oh and by the way, Im not running the original JA2, I used to, but once JA2 gold showed up I immediately picked it up, it's basically JA2 and JA2:Unfinnished Business in one package, don't know if the patches are any different...
