GoGamer is having a 48hr Madness sale with the following:

Jade Empire Special Edition Made by BioWare. It's an RPG set in a Asian Fantasy world

Dungeon Siege II Deluxe it comes with Dungeon Siege II + Expansion. I've never played it, but I heard it's a hack and slash RPG.

Sid Meier's Civilizations Chronicals It comes with all Civ games from 1 to 4 and their expanesion, with the exception of Civ 4 Expansions.

Remember dirt cheap shipping allows you to choose up to two games.

That's a great deal for Jade Empire. It's a good Bioware RPG with a great story. Lots of character interaction ala BG2 and KOTOR.

Thanks for the Jade Empire news. In for it. Now to research how to get the nasty DRM out after I finish playing it.....

DSII is nothing more than DS, which altho hammered by RPG purists, was a great introduction to the RPG genre. I tried BGII and found myself completely overwhelmed, so DS was a great pickup for me. DSII, on the other hand, offered nothing at all over DS, so I was generally disappointed in its 'sequel' status. For a great price, its a quick grind, but don't expect too much from it. I'd like to try Jade Empire .. that looks interesting.

Jade empire is okay, it's basically KOTOR in Asian setting, even with the light/dark (open/close fist) stuff. Kinda gets old if you played KOTOR already, but for 10 bucks it's still a good deal.

Being compared to KOTOR is not bad at all. Especially at $10.

Ooooops. I just ordered Jade Empire. What is the nasty DRM does it use? A quick search of Wikipedia turned up no discussion on DRM.

Oh well, if I decide not to install it, I am only out $12.50 or so.

Sweet, I have that game for the xbox 1 (payed around $5 for it), but could not get used to the controls (same goes for any console game). I think I might pick it up, thanks OP!

Jade Empire uses Sony's SecuROM DRM, but it does not require activation as far as I know. (The Steam version of Jade Empire (from what I have heard) does not have Sony's SecuROM).

What is "special" about JE's "special edition" - other than it is on CD?
😕

and it is SO ordered - along with DS II/xpack ... under $30 shipped
- thanks for the 'reviews'

Special Edition has an extra character to play as, and a few other extra bits like that. It does have better art, AI, and gameplay than the console version. Not a direct port, but was worked on for the PC version.

Thanks

... special ... as in over the console version 😛
-i heard good thing about it but could never find it under $30 ... now i get an extra game for the same $30
... i better hurry and finish up the Witcher
😀

dog gone you all... I went back and ordered jade empire and coh so thats three pc games coming... I don't have time to play all these!

As far as DS v DSII, I've actually heard it compared to the difference between Diablo I and Diablo II; same game, but different structure.

Note: I haven't played myself, though.

Also, I'd be all over this if I just didn't buy a 2900Pro. I've been wanting Jade Empire for a while now. 😀

Great deal!
