Jackson Browne - The Load Out / Stay

If you've ever wondered what life on the road is like for a serious performer, these two songs (on his 1998 "Best of" CD) tell the story.

Great combination of awesome music.

Good stuff. Originally on his "Running on Empty" album. The 2nd part, "Stay", was covered from a Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons hit from the early 60s.

Yup, and I THINK (on his Greatest Hits CD) he actually got the original performers to sing live with him. 😉

Stay was originally by Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs. I believe it was the shortest song to chart, or something like that.

C'mon, someone else must have heard this! 🙂

I love that song!!

I'm trying to think of more songs about being on the road.

Good stuff.

Another good song about being on the road is Bob Seger's "Turn the Page".

All true.

In a similar vein:
Former 80's pop star Nik Kershaw did a very good concept album a few years ago on life after fame, titled appropriately enough "15 Minutes."
