I liked his Police Story series, with exception to Police Story 4: First Strike.

What about rush hour and rush hour 2?

I agree that most of his american movies suck, but those two were good.

Dave

That was another great movie! A middle aged Chinese guy with a young girlfriend (Jennifer Love Hewit)! Woo hoo!

his japanese is still pretty darn crappy these days, i have a recent vid of him in japan playing some crazy game with the music group tokio. they have to get to a certain place with a limit on how many steps they can take, pretty funny having him go around trying to communicate in japanese.

There was one movie of him some years ago. I forget the title but he was protecting this young woman and I believe her brother (who was in a wheel chair.) The movies are such crap. I remember there was one part in the movie where the wheelchair boy was playing a gameboy and you could clearly see there was no game in the gameboy. He was going "ooooo, ahhhhhh, oh no." and there were stupid game sound effects. It was the funniest thing.

That war Rumble in the Bronx...supposed to be set in the Bronx but was actually filmed in Toronto with some scenes showing mountains in the background. :D Still, I like the movie as I do most of his flicks.

Rush Hours were the bomb.
Don't diss Jackie -- he is the SH*T in HK and Asia. He's pretty damn dope here in the USA too. How many 50 year old guys do u know can do what he does?

He may not be the best actor, but he doesn't try to be. he doesn't take up any serious roles -- only the ones he can do.

Excellent point. I don't think he takes himself too serious as a Shakesperean actor or anything. He just has fun with his roles.

So is young girls' panties! JC is a chump, probably couldn't fight his way out of a paper bag.

Jet Li is where it's at.

As far as tickets sold outside the US Jackie Chan is one of the largest earners.

The thing with a Jackie Chan movie is 1) you know he is doing his stunts and designed them 2) you can expect to laugh, that is his deal...he never wants to be known as a 'serious' actor, and doesn't want to glorify hurting people, if you notice it's always Jackie that ends up the most graphically hurt.

It's a matter of what we are accustomed to here...overseas many movies have sad endings, those would not fly in the US. People don't even want to hear sad news and want to sue for being exposed to it.

I thought Shanghai Noon and Shanghai Knights were pretty good too but not as good as RH 1 and 2. When watching his movies you shouldn't take anything seriously. His US career seems to be more successful than Jet Li's so far.
