ahahha... one of the best things i've read on this subject.

More threads about Jack Thompson = attention. He craves the attention and exposure in any way he can get it. I've given up even badmouthing him or pointing out his logical fallacies.

But I guess extremists are too busy to find out what a game is really like...

Excellent observations Captain

The other day I emailed a co-worker talking about the incident and the only reply was, "damn video games".

I didn't even bother replying...

i would've smacked him in the head, and then say "i dont play games, but here i am smacking you!"

this is the product of blame culture and "lets get sueing" culture.

people today simply dont accept that accidents happen, and that once in a while you get a human being so completely deranged that he goes on a murderous rampage or rapes a bunch of 5 year olds, or eats peoples pets.

thats simply not allowed to happen, there must a cause and that cause must then be sued out of existance. its just a nasty side of capitalism.... money must be made from absolutely any oppertunity no matter how tasteless it is.

i mean the human brain is incredibly powerful and incredibly complex.... you can look at it like a CPU, you dont always get perfect chips of off every wafer. with something that complex you have to realise that even mother nature is gonna lose its concentration and get a few wires crossed at some point, nothing can be 100% perfect 100% of the time.

I pretty much stopped playing all games when I went to School, as did a lot of my friends, just better things to do in college than play games.

Also, How in the hell do you figure out pulse rate from video? "The FBI could tell that his pulse was under 60 from the video." Almost no one has an idle pulse of below 60, much less when they are running around killing people.

my resting heart rate is below 50 at times and definately always below 60.... but i have 15 years of swimming to thank for that.

When did you last check your 'during a killing spree' heart rate? :p

Your an example of why I said "Almost no one" ;). Bush has an idle heart rate of around 55, IIRC. I am usually in the low 60s, but I have a feeling that would jump a bit if I was running around shooting at people ;). Plus, I bet most people that would play CS enough to go insane would have a much higher idle heart rate.

My favorite part of the story is that there were no video games found in Cho's room or on his computer, then again we don't need facts if we have a witch hunt.

Pfft...that's easy. They'll just go to the old standby. Liberal media.
