J.D. Power sent me a dollar to fill out an 8 page survey on a recent car purchase.

Now, I'm guessing that Mr. Power probably has a boat-load of money, but he thinks my time is only worth $1.

Should I bother to contact them and tell them that I would be happy to fill out their survey, but that it will cost them $150.66 more? My rate for consulting work is $260 Hr.

Somehow, I think I would be wasting my time. Actually, they'd owe me for that time too! ;)

Guilt marketing.

Trying to make you feel guilty for keeping the dollar without filling out the survey. Send it back with a strongly worded letter about how insulting it is.
