Well all I can say is that the ram is rated at 400mhz so its not suprising they got it to hit 400. When it came to the R350 I belive the many cores OCed with everything stock on 9800pros to at least 440-450mhz. 480mhz isn't that hard to believe.

Yeah, people were hitting ~450 with 9800 Pros. Seeing as how the R360 is based on a fairly mature core (read: high yields) and has a well designed cooling system, it's not THAT unthinkable that this might turn out to be what these cards overclock to. No matter what though, this is still an amazing overclock.

And yes, the IQ comparison between Det 45.23 and 51.75 explains quite a few things (like where all the additional performance came from).
