IwillK266Plus&Amd1900+ only shows 1500+ after install XP and some hardware

I have an Iwill266Plus motherboard with an AMD 1900+ cpu. When I had Win98SE on it the PC would boot and everything showing 1900+ as the speed on the boot up screen. Anyway, I wanted to put WinXP on so I updated the BIOS and installed XP. At this time I also added a new hard drive and a firewire card. It was an hour or so after doing all of this that I noticed the speed now showed to be 1500+. It seems like I can change the settings in the cmos but this seems like I would essentially be overclocking which I really don't want to do. Any suggestions? Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Have you checked to see if the FSB is set to 133?

When you updated the BIOS i bet your FSB went back to 100mhz, whereas it should and was 133. Go ahead and change it its completely safe, afterall thats what it was at before.
