I would consider moving to this as my main PC if only it had more SATA ports onboard. I'd still keep at least one port for external use. Just adding a SATA PCI controller isn't favorable, as there is only one PCI slot.

OK, maybe I'd want some/more SP/DIF out options too, but that's not as critical *to me* as SATA. I'd also like more color options, but again, that's not too critical.

2x Opteron 250/248 (take advantage of the 400MHz-based bus speeds)
2x 1GB Registered PC3200 (no personal needs for NUMA right now)
Nice dual-DVI AGP card (again, until 8x AGP is a poor perfomer)
Perhaps an HDTV capture card
2x SATA hard drives internal
DVD burner
Additional HD via external SATA
...
