This combination will NOT POST whatsoever. Full CMOS reset. Put in Prophet II it will only work after the ATX power connector has been removed from the board for >10 seconds! Strange, eh?

I remember having a cold boot problem with the Visiontek GeForce3 as well. Does anyone have this combination?

Cheers!

Yes, it is not at all uncommon. I've had the same issue with GeForce 3. It lies in a combination of factors: a buggy VIA KT133A (early revision) north bridge, and the rather large power demand of the GeForce-series (especially 3) cards. You could try increasing your I/O to the max (around 3.55-3.6 with the 10% jumper) or changing the AGP driving value. This should help a bit, but probably won't totally eliminate the problem.

VIA has yet to officially take responsibility for (yet another) bug in their KT133A, but it does exist, at least in earlier revisions.

Intel PRO 100+ management adapter in this system.

Funny thing is with the Prophet II (64MB), the system runs fine. It seems that original GF1 owners are having troubles as well. The GF1 was known for being energy thirsty, perhaps this is the case with the GF3 as well.

This is a revision 1.2 board.

This is a pretty common problem. Looks like I'll be keeping my KT7A a little while longer.

Cheers!
