Iwill KK266plus & unlocked(!!) Athlon 1.1 - fun

Recently a neighbor of mine gave me a "unstable/unworking" system to play with. Turns out it's rock solid, except for the power supply that had some problems and was easily replaced.

Anyway, the motherboard is an Iwill KK266plus and, lo and behold, there is an unlocked Athlon 1.1GHz chip underneath the heatsink. I don't have any stepping/model numbers unfortunately, but I know for a fact it's unlocked. :)

If I can remember right, the default settings are 1100MHz (11x100). First thing I tried was ~1450 (11x133), but it was *slightly* unstable (failed Prime95 I think), so I backed it down to 1333 (10x133) and it's rock solid. What I love about this chip & motherboard combo that I "stumbled upon" is that I can set FSB in increments of 1 from 133-200, plus multipliers from 5.5-11+ (can't remember how high it goes), plus fine-tune voltage adjustments in increments of .05 :D This is a whole lotta fun!! :D

Now for a question... I know the KK266plus is a bit outdated, but does anyone know if it has a PCI lock? I'm a bit wary of upping the FSB, since I don't want the PCI bus to run any higher than ~33Mhz (I know what troubles that can bring). I have no problem upping the FSB if the PCI bus won't budge though :)

I'm currently running a KK266 Plus in my server, and I'm pretty sure there is no pci/agp lock. I was only able to get my chip up to around 148 FSB before it crapped the bed. This was with 2 x 128MB PC150.

Does that mean your PCI bus was theoretically running at 37MHz? Did you experience any stability problems (at 148FSB?)

Anyone else care to comment?
