So I have a new case + 330w ps coming in a few days, but i just got my kk266 + tbird 850 and thought I'd try it out in my old case/230w ps. I'm 100% sure I have everything plugged in right, and when i hit power it does nothing. One time the CPU fan spun around a couple times, but that's it.

Is that normal? Should I be worried? I've read about people OC'ing athlons to 1.1ghz with their 230w power supplies...is there something about 133mhz fsb mobo's that make them absolutely not run on underpowered ps's?

Or maybe there's some kind of sensor in the new mobo's, so it won't power up if you don't have enough juice??? Geez I hope it's not fried. I'm pretty darn sure that I didn't fry it if it is.

Thx

i think you are pushing your luck with the 230W, but at the same time i would think you would at least get something from the mobo.. some loud beeps, and light.. just no post. but hey, i dunno, just a guess
