when i boot up I get this message:

error: SB IRQ Conflicting with PCI IRQ
Creative SB16 Emulation Driver NOT Loading.


Heres my specs:
Athlon 850
Iwill KK266-R
PC150 128mb
Radeon 64 VIVO
Win98SE

 
You can try removing the card in devce manager and re-instaling. Or moving some cards around if you have extra slots. Anouther thing is to disable ports you dont use in bios to free up an IRQ. It probably wants IRQ7 so see if your serial port or something usless is using it.

Alot of people just disable it but its not just dos games that use it,games like NHL2k loose half the sound without it,music tracks annoucer cues ect.
 
If you go into the bios change the setting to NO on PnP o.s...... and make sure that you set all PCI devices to a certain IRQ other than auto...... take note of which PCI slots are listed as shared here. Make sure that if you aren't using your com ports, parallel port, usb, or IDE that you disable them so you can add them to the pool used for your PCI cards..... I have the board and have sblive, network card, ati 64 vivo, raid card and I'm not sharing a single IRQ. Hope that helps.
 
I saw a reference to simply disabling the audio on this MB, with a jumper. Does this not make you able to just install and go with the SB card ?
