Ok, heres the thing. When I first installed my system, my Western Digital HD wasnt being detected with RAID controller, so I turned RAID off and then moved the HD to the normal IDE controllers and installed Windows normally that way. Then, when I had everything install correctly (windows wise), I moved the Western Digital HD to the RAID controller as the master on one channel, and then I put another HD on the second RAID channel (its only being detected as a Slave but I dont think thats the problem). Now, I dont want these to be RAIDed (just want to use the controller as extra IDE) so I didnt configure the RAID setup or anything, and just booted into windows. All seemed well, and it asked me for the drivers, and I put in the diskette and it installed, asked for a reboot and everything seemed fine. Then I got the errors.
First off, I got a general windows protection error, or something like that. Rebooted, got into windows fine. I checked the Device Manager to make sure everything was A.O.K...and low and behold the RAID controller was being detected as an SCSI, and it had an exclamation point next to. I checked to see what was going on and it said this:
Windows stopped responding while attempting to access this device, so will never again attemp to access the device (code 11).
That was pretty freaky, but it said I could try and reinstall the drivers, so I did and rebooted into windows. Nothing, still the same error. I have no clue what to do, and now Im getting wierd holds and pauses when the HD is being accessed. It also locked up under Sandra HD tester. Anyone have ANY ideas what the heck I should do? Or is it just fubar'd?
