My brand new KK266 will not power unless I disconnect the power and then reconnect it. After I do that; it powers right up. I highly suspect my power supply as it is only 250 watts. I thought I would just see if anyone had any other ideas, and suggestions for a new power supply which I plan to order on Monday.

My system:
IWill KK266
T-Bird 1.33 GHz (not overclocked)
512 MB PC133 Crucial RAM
ATI Radeon AIW
SB Live
Netgear FA311 (for DSL)
Zoom v.90 Lucent-based modem
Maxtor Ultra 100 IDE controller.

I also think it's yer PSU cous my 250 watt psu already crippled out when trying to run a voodoo 3 in combination with my 3 dimm banks an a PII 266 (klamath so 35µ form)

soo I think it is yer PSU .. to test this, remove every dimm in yer sys, but one ...

try to remove every PCI card u have ...
underclock yer processor a bit .. if it then boots then it is a psu prob ... just get a descent one (enermax ones are really recommended by athlon, cous they have dual fan setup and a wide 3.3 volt branche ..)

AMD reccommends the enermax 350 up to speeds of their latest (1.4 Ghz) so you should be safe with that one ...

i met this power problem (no power after pressing power button) as well. It usually happens when w2k doesn't shut down normally. i have to open case and reconnect the mobo power cable (between PSU and mobo). My PSU is enermax300W. I think it's IWILL's problem.

Is this happening to you everytime? It is to me :( Hopefully the new PS will solve the problem. I'll check but I think it does the same thing whether I'm in Win2k or WinME
