I have searched through the threads and have not been able to find all the info needed to properly use 4 speakers (2 fronts, 2 rears) with my on-board audio on the kk266 WITHOUT using the "duplicate line out signal to rear out".

I basically started from scratch and I installed the drivers and the C-media audio rack (mp3 player, mixer, cd player, midi player) for win2k using the CD included with my motherboard. When running the demo, all 4 channels work fine. When I play mp3's or any audio files using the C-media AUDIO RACK, the 4 channels also work fine. However, if i were to use any other programs such as Winamp, my rear channels go away. My rear channels are also absent when i play games. Thus the only use of my rear channels right now is to play audio files using ONLY the provided audio rack.

From my understanding, the default windows setting has 4 speaker support disabled. I've tried going into the default windows mixer to enable this (as i've read), but am unable to since I don't have the "advanced" settings tab for some reason.

Anyone that has this setup and has gotten it to work, Please help me out. Thanks!

ok, it's really easy... you are going to kick yourself when you hear how to do it.

Go to Control Panel. Go to Volume controls (sounds & multimedia). Go to the audio tab. Under sound playback click advanced. Then under speaker setup go to 5.1 Surround sound speakers. Plug your rear speakers into the AUDIO IN jack, and it should work.

Good Luck!
