I recently bought a pretty much a new computer with the following hardware:
Iwill KK266-R motherboard
1.2Ghz Athlon CPU
Leadtek Geforce 2 Pro 64mb Videocard
IBM 40Gb 7200 Rpm
256MB PC133 Ram
300W Power supply
w/Win2000 Professional
When I first install everything seem to work smoothly.
When I played Quake III or Counter-Strike the game would start with nor problem but in the middle of playing the monitor would screw up and all I would see is vertical line and the only way to fix it is restart. Mind you the sound also went out, pretty much system froze.
I've done the following in different combination to try and fix it:
1.Reintsall Win2000 with and without update from microsoft
2.Update motherboard bios from Iwill
3.Use latest video drivers from both Leadtek and Nvidia
4.Got the latest Via chipset update from Iwill
5.Messed around with OpenGl setting
6.Installed DirectX 8.0a
7.Installed a registry fix for AGP in Win2000 (from Iwill site)
8.messed around with Bios setting (Disabled video bios cachabe, etc.)
One thing I notice is that my Network card and Video card are sharing the same IRQ and I've tried to change this but can't seem to figure how to change either one. It doesn't let me change it under resources.
Anything else I should try? Is there a know conflict between any of my hardware? Bad card?
Windows in General works great. Just when I play those two games (only ones i've install on this computer so far) does it crash.
