According to the IWILL,

<< It is only a small portion of mother board having multiplier issue. We caught this issue within few days. The product been delivered now has no problem at all. >>

Also they said

<< The solution has been resolved and all future 1.2 boards from March 5th on are okay >>

Panhead, it's likely bad. If you have it, look at the resistor. IF there is a 0 ohm on R357 and not 356, then you should RMA the board, or you'll have no hope of doing the BIOS multiplier settings.

Question on the RMA instructions.

When they say on the RMA form to send board back with out cables and manuals and no jumpers, does this mean I have to take off all the jumpers on the bad motherboard? Will they send jumpers on the new motherboard? If not how do i know where they all go? Sounds like a pain in the butt.

Just wondering.

G35,

If you look there are only a few critical jumpers... the yellow ones. THose are the user ones. THe rest... well... I guess we should probably just write down whatever position they are in. THat would be the easiest way. If there is no jumper for J1 and a jumper for J2, the write down "J1 N/C", "J2 Connect" etc.

Not much else I can say. Maybe the manual gives the default positions... I've not looked closely enuff.

Great guys,

thanks for the answers.
Plus I think they send you a board first then you send yours back so then I can see what they shipped on the new board.

Thanks

So would it be safe to buy a new one of the mobos right now? They should all be fixed, right. I am looking at the KK266-R from Newegg for $135 shipped. It says "Rev. 1.2 No Bug Version."

Doh, it's $150 now, should've bought last night.

Fellas/Gals,
If I were to buy one again, I would buy the RAID. Not to mention, I paid $131 shipped from Newegg for my NON-RAID. Man... I got ripped. Crap.

If you don't need the RAID, though, then all the boards after March 5 are supposed to be A-OK. So, hopefully Newegg's stock as been refreshed and none of the rev1.2 boards will have the issue. I'd call and make sure first, though!!!

Even if I don't plan on using RAID, I can still use the 4 extra connections for IDE devices, right? Would it work the same as having a PCI ata/100 adapter card?

and newegg does have it at $150 now.

Yes, I see it is back to $150 now ... but I can swear it was $135 around noon today when I posted. I even added it to the cart to make sure it was really $135.

Good news.
Hey gang, I just got an email from an Iwill rep that told me that there is no design difference between the version 1.1 and 1.2. I guess they added a capacitor to the back of the 1.1 boards after manufacturing and now it is incorporated on the "correct" side of the mobo and that is the only significant difference.

Yeah, yeah other than the fact that the 1.2's had problems too because of an improperly located resistor.
