OK, I've been trying for months to stop this problem. has anyone gotten this combo to work correctly? if so what drivers are you using and what are you bios settings for the kk266 (uses via kt133a). I'm using the latest posted bios from iwill's website (date is OCT 2001). I've tried everything I know of and the problem still exists when playing mp3 and especially when watching DVDs (the reason I got the card in the first place). As i recall I once had it working fine under windows 98, so i know the card is not defective.

I have tried all the drivers (from 1.57 to 1.86) posted on 3dsound.com, each on clean win xp installs. Yes, that took a long time! Loaded new VIA 4-in-1 and bus master drivers, used the via pci latency tweak from viahardware.com, made sure my dvd is using UDMA. The acoustic edge is using its own irq, not sharing with any other cards or devices. Each time I loaded the AE drivers, I had only the sound card and graphics card in my computer and added them one at a time. I've tweaked my bios settings to the ones recommened on the FAQ at iwill.net. I even downloaded powerstrip and fiddled with the latency setting for the acoustic edge. I know there have been complaints about the via kt133a chipset and the acoustic edge, but from what I've read this mobo is notoriously bad in terms of getting the card to work under windows xp. Any other suggestions? other than throwing my motherboard away.

If I can't get this card working can anyone recommend a 5.1 analog output card that will work with the iwill KK266 under windows xp? Is the audigy any better? I need 5.1 because my speakers (midiland 7100s) need a dedicated sub input.

Thanks,
