Panhead,

Just a thought. The Mitsumi floppy I installed was the REVERSE for pin 1 compared to all the other devices. In this case, I noticed a small etching above the connector, and upon closer examination it was a "1" and it was on the left side! I reversed my floppy cable so that the red line was now on the left side below the "1", and my floppy was a happy camper.

Try rechecking your cable connection???

Good luck,
David

Hey, I just looked at my BIOS pages and I don't see much for overclocking this Iwill KA266-R, just memory (FSB-DDR) speed and Vcore. Multiplier is by jumper. After reading the mushkin information, I'm confused because my 2/15 bios doesn't have those options. Anyhoo, I'm currently trying:

Vcore = 185, Memory 140MHz, 10x on a 1.2GHz Athlon.

Have about an hour of Quake3 doing good.

Well I don't see anything special in the BIOS. I have been running my 1.2GHz with 2 x Mushkin128MB PC2100 at 140x10. Setting the FSB to 140 in the BIOS setup and the Vcore to 1.85 in the BIOS setup. I left the Vmem alone (jumper) and set the multiplier to 10 (jumper).

Lost circuits has an article about tweaking the register for this chipset. Lost Circuits DDR Article.

In the Dram Timing, stay away from the ultra or ultra2 settings if you have pc2100 ram. I tryed these settings and my box froze. Needed to reset cmos - JP1.

lane42,
Yes I had read that the Ultra/Ultra2 settings were to be avoided with PC2100. Both lost circuits and muskin mention this. But does your board had this option? If so, what board version and BIOS version. My 1.3 board with the 2/15 BIOS doesn't appear to have this option.

Dulanic,
I read the article but the funny part is I have an IWill with the Ali chipset and Mushkin memory and it runs fine. And I can over clock it. This article says my machine shouldn't even post, let alone type you this response. I didn't see what version of the board/bios. I have a 1.3 board with 2/15 bios.
