Hello, when do you think i3 and when Pentium series will be out? I'm planning to build a desktop PC with either i3 or Pentium as soon as they're out. Also Would it be alright to run IB i3 or Pentium fanless?
 
Intel typically do not release i3/Pentium processors until later. They require BIG volume, and it takes time to ramp. Plus, unlike the high end they can scale previous generation processors to fit the same role.

Lower performance do not always mean lower power either. If not looking for undervolting/clocking, looking for S/T designated SKUs would be the way to go for fanless. Or even mobile chips, though are much more expensive.
 
All of the i3 and Pentium Ivy's are probably being binned right now don't you think? The early yields produce the more mediocre chips I would think. Still, they do release these after the faster parts.
