Ivy Bridge Netbook?

Or, ok I'm looking for a new laptop in the 10-12" range, preferably with Ivy Bridge. No one seems to make laptops this size anymore. Curse you dead Steve Jobs and your Ipad!

Anyone know if such a thing exists?

Netbooks by definition have Intel's Atom in them. You're probably looking along the lines of Ultrabook/Thin-and-light Notebook. And most of Intel's processors that will make it into that form factor that are Ivy Bridge haven't been released yet and are still under embargo. You'll have to wait for Intel to release the rest of the Ivy Bridge lineup.

As for Sandy Bridge:

There are quite a few ultrabooks that are 12" such as the Asus ZenBook/Zenbook Prime UX21 and the MacBook Air 11" (11.6").

For smaller notebooks, there's the Lenovo X130e with Sandy Bridge, or even the X230 is 12.5". Looking around, I saw the HP Pavilion dm1-4170us, which is 11.6".

There's still plenty of smaller laptops around. You just have to look.

Well yes, I know that there are smaller laptops, I just haven't found any with Ivybridge in them. I don't see why I'd pay for a brand new Sandybridge when something better is out, and it really does need to be below 12"

Maybe I'll just have to wait a bit, and hope my current laptop doesn't fall apart completely until then. Thanks for trying to help though!

Well, Intel should release the new Ivy Bridge CPUs for the UltraBooks/thin-and-lights next month. So it's not too long of a wait... 😛

Yeah, the problem is just as pctc2 said, next month is when all the goodys come out. The only laptop ivy bridge skus that has been released are the quad core ones (at least so I've seen, I could be mistaken though). All the small form factors usually don't have the high end processors simply due to the higher thermal and power requirements for those processors. June is when the lower power variants of the IB processors are suppose to arrive
