Which CPU would be the better for multi-tasking and general performance (NOT gaming)? :

1) i5 3330
2) i5 3340

Either one is fine. They are nearly identical to each other. Only difference is the 100MHz clock speed advantage on the i5 3340 which you will definitely never be able to notice regardless task.
 
Well put nwo. Grab the 3340, just watch out for RAM prices, Cuz their off the roof.

We should get you a 9800 GT or 8800 GT, it will go well with the CPU alto I know you dont play games. It brings other advantagesl. etc.. gl
