Gillbot, you and Rvenger should have a "little" spending $$ thanks to me!😎

Let me know if you pick up a 4930k how it runs.🙂

I have no plans for a 4930k, I have another 3930k i use now and no reason to replace it yet. However, I will NEVER turn down a chance to go to microcenter. Sometimes their clearance section gets me in trouble! 😱

There's a Microcenter about an hour's drive away from me. I right now have an i7-3930k and a GTX 680 4GB in my system. I was considering picking up a 4820k and selling my 3930k for around $420 and my GTX 680 for around $400 and using the money I end up with after selling my 3930k and my GTX 680 to buy the 4820k and a GTX 780 FTW edition. Or maybe it's better that I just sell my 3930k and use that money towards a 4930k and stick with my GTX 680? I just need to know if the 4820k will beat the 4930k in programs that use up to 4 cores.

In terms of getting an improvement in your system you notice, the 780 will do that and 4930k won't. I think the choice is obvious.

I'd keep what you have

LOL no difference between 3930k and 4930k. They are both soo quick. Guys games will play just fine and dandy especially a Sandy E or Ivy E. gl

I wouldn't mind replacing my 3570k setup with a 4820k. Did they ever come out with an ITX 2011 board?

Gillbot, I'm a little over an hour from the MicroCenter in St. Davids (Philly area) PA. I bought the 3770k in rig1 below from them. At the time it was $229. I'll keep you posted on the 3930k build.

That's where I got my original 3770k from but stupidly I sold it. I have another on the way though that should be here today.

So you prefer an a 3770k over a 3930k? What are you going to do with your 3930k once you have a 3770k again?

I still have my 3930k and hands down, it wins. I actually had two 3930k's plus a 3770k and decided the extra 3930k was overkill.

I was going to upgrade my 3770k powered server with the 2nd 3930k but decided I just didn't need the 3930k as a server when even the 3770k is overkill for what it does. I tried to run my server on a G530 but it just didn't have enough power to transcode video without stutter so I upped it to an i3-3220. Once I got rid of the 2nd 3930k setup, I figured I might as well put the 3770k back instead of the i3 right?
