And if Iverson played defense...

what a dumb thing to say. he leads the league in steals, you complete horse's ass.

but in the past he's gambled too much. i dunno about now. i think he more than deserves a spot on the olympic team though.
and BTW... to the person who said >6'3"... shouldn't it be <6'3"? just to clarify?

yes, it was a typo.

LOL! Some of AI's resume

Named All-NBA second team in 2001-02 and voted as a starter on the Eastern Conference All-Star Team
Led league in scoring in 2001-02 with 31.4 ppg as well as steals (2.80 spg) and minutes (43.7)
Named the 2000-01 NBA Most Valuable Player, leading the league in scoring (31.1 ppg) and steals (2.51 spg)
Most Valuable Player of the 2001 All-Star Game
Selected to the 1999-2000 All-NBA Second Team
Named to the 1998-99 All-NBA First Team after leading the NBA in scoring (26.8 ppg)
Named the 1996-97 Schick NBA Rookie of the Year, becoming the first 76er to ever win the award
Set the Sixers' all-time rookie record with 1,787 points
Scored 40 points in five straight games in April to set an NBA rookie record
Named MVP of the Schick Rookie Game during the 1997 NBA All-Star Weekend, posting 19 points and a game-high 9 assists
Named NBA Rookie of the Month for November, 1997, leading all rookies in scoring (21.8 ppg), assists (6.4 apg) and steals (2.67 spg)

He is right now 5th overall in scoring in the History of the NBA and 3rd overall in average steals per game in the history of the NBA. Only man outside of MJ to score 50 twice in an NBA playoff series. Man the list just goes on. And he's done it with average players at best around him. Love him, hate him, or regardless of his size, Iverson, barring injury will be one of the greatest players ever to play the game. Period.

Why Jermaine O'neal is being named is beyond me. He's a good player, but like someone posted earlier, how he goes before guys like Francis is whack.

this is a bit misleading. i'm pretty sure you mean to say 5th overall in scoring average. a big difference.

With Kidd, Iverson, Kobe, Tmac, Ray Allen and Bibby on the team, it's no suprise that Francis didn't get on the team. Beside, the only big man on that team are Duncan and Malone, so the addition of O'neal is reasonable.

agreed. they could have done worse than Jermaine O'Neal. if you can't shaq out there, you might as well have one O'Neal right?

francis isn't yet on the same level, in my opinion, as Kobe, Iverson, or TMac.

With the Olympic team made up of Iverson, Kobe, T-Mac, Ray Allen, and Kidd/Bibby to pass it around, this is gonna be awesome for die-hard basketball fans to watch.:D

AI does not make his team better. He's a cancer on offense with all those shots he jacks up while shooting less than 40% from the field.

I don't like how Bibby was selected. Who was Bibby when he was with Memphis? Oh yeah, nobody. Move him over to a winning team and all of a sudden he's a superstar? I don't buy into that. But I guess the league picked Bibby over other guards like Francis and Marbury because he has a pass first mentality.

Well if he's a cancer, he's also the ANSWER with a cure. The cure tonight was 55! :p Oh by the way he has career shooting % of 42%. Kobe and T Mac are both only 45%. How did you learn the game, on Playstation? LOL

Good compared to who? Look at Vancouver's awesome record when Bibby was there. Compare Bibby's stats to Francis or Marbury. Plus, I'm not saying he's not good, but he's just overrated. He's simply not a superstar.

True, he only took a very average team and got them through the (admittedly weak) eastern conference into the playoffs single handed. He's really bringing that team down....

when bibby played with Vancouver he was one of the best point guards in the game. i had him on my fantasy team back then. he always ranked top 6 point guards in the league in fantasy points. he was always a consistent 18 p/g scorer and he always averaged over 7 assists / game.

strange thing about point guards tho, their assist numbers go up when they play with a better team. Who woulda thunk it. Oh ya, if the team is better they are more likely to hit shots. DAMN, that can't have anything to do with this could it?

just because bibby's assist numbers go up w/ the kings doesn't mean he wasn't any good before. DUUUUUHHH.

That's horrible logic. Look at T-Mac when he was in Toronto. He wasn't half of what we're seeing now. I guess he must just be overrated cause he wasn't dropping 40-50 points a game with regularity then.

Your logic is horrible. Tmac was also a nobody in Toronto shadowed by cousin Carter. But then he moved on. Tmac deserves his superstar status because his numbers have improved dramatically since becoming Orlando's franchise player. Bibby has done nothing to warrant superstar status. He's still the same Bibby from the Griz on a winning team so now he's getting all this recognition for putting up average numbers for a Guard. McGrady is a superstar, Bibby is not.
