Use it.

What do you use your computer for? Programming, word processing, web development, audio work, image development, what?

web browsing and movie watching. I download a lot of Friends and The Sopranos episodes, as well as DIVX stuff. Other than that, it's an MP3 box.

I would really like to reinstall linux one of these days, but I just don't have a real use for it. I think you really get the most use out of it if you have it for a specific purpose. I don't really ever see myself using it as a general use workstation... eh, maybe one day.

Well if you want to watch movies I can send you a copy of my Full Metal Jacket VHS rip(I did it for testing) in .wmv format. It fits on one CD and has pretty good picture and sound quality.

you mean cp, ls, cat, less, mv, ln, ps, rm and a bunch of others?

The above are just the ones I use on a regular basis so they come to mind quite fast.

Something which you might not realize is that a lot of linux users prefer the console mode over the gui mode. Why? Because it gives you
more control over what your doing. Please note that not everyone is like that, I know a linux user who prefers the gui mode, to each their own.

I can hardly wait for Kde 3.1, them screenshots just look amazing.

You mean as opposed to the "helpful" wizards and paperclips that come up every 5 seconds, never have the option you need, and take 3 times as long? ;)

i didn't switch for productivity reasons...i switched to see what all the hype is about. Granted, i've only been using it for a couple hours now, but it's nothing special.

When the novelty wears off, low level format your hard drive and get back to something like Win XP Pro.

Linux is a toy. No one serious in the business world looks at Linux as desktop OS. NO ONE!
