I've started seeing alot of this.....

Customer brings in his machine, sets it on the counter. Looking at the back I notice no (or severely beat up) I/O shield and bent metal prongs where once the on board video was.

The first time I saw this, I thought to myself, "Okay, cut the guy some slack, accidents happen.". However, over a 6 month period I have seen over 10 computers come in with this condition.

The really funny part is when they look at me straight faced and say "I'm not really sure what happened."

Or "Can you just glue it back on and not charge me?"

The entertainment is priceless.

Haha... I read it thinking people there have the mentality as they do where I work...

Someone here upgraded to a new upgraded video card, so he ripped the old connector off of the motherboard so he wouldnt have two video cards installed...

🙂

So, people are yanking out monitor cables w/o unscrewing them?

People pick up there machines to bring them to our store for repair. Apparently they can unplug everything else except the BIG BLUE connector, and they just walk off.
