I've seen a number of people that look like their upper lip has been cut

The first time I saw it, I figured that the person must have been cut with something. Having seen it a number of times now, I'm curious to know if it's a genetic thing.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

Its most likely cleft lip. Cleft Palate is more rare but can be quite a bit more severe. A cleft case requires a team of doctors including plastic surgeons, pediatricians, ENT's Oral and maxillary facial surgeons, and dentists
