Asus p5q pro

Corsair 750tx

ok So i built the PC about 2 weeks ago. i've been busy so havent got to diagnose the problem until this weekend.
I ran memtest for 15 hours with no errors(on one stick, I'll try the other tonight)
I ran prime95 for 8 hours and it crashed around hour 8.5(system rebooted)

i've removed video cards, disconnected hard drives, and removed one stick of ram(tried both)

system freezes no matter what i try....

other issues:
green lines all over the 46" lcd on boot, untill all drivers are loaded.
46" lcd is happy in 720 but when switched to 1080 it gets green lines.
system freezes when watching videos on lcd(happens randomly and i tried playing videos last night and nothing happened when playing 4 videos in fullscreen on all 4 monitors.)

but i woke up and the computer was frozen :-(

i've searched and researched this everywhere and cant seem to narrow it down
i'll run any test and provide any information needed.... just let me know

Stock clocked Q6600? The fact that the system crashed and rebooted during prime would beg instability but I see where you're coming from since my Q6600 liked to do that randomly for a while, haven't had that problem in few months though. Not really sure what to tell you on how to stop the random crashes :/

But for starters what you could do is update all your drivers, revert back to clock settings (except for the memory maybe, since OCZ sticks tend to like 2-2.1v) and just hope it's more stable.

thanks for the response....
all settings are on auto except for the ram voltage which is at 2.2(thats what the label says to put it at)

with prime95 running the cpu doesnt go past 35c
individual cores reach as high as 51c

ok here is an update.... there has not been any random crashes for ~24hrs. i did have one last night while watching a high res video

i got "display driver stopped responding" and then BSOD

I've also noticed that in CCC usage meter stays at 0

I tried running fallout 3, with epic fail (would only run in 800X600), i tried in 720 but the screen got green lines all over it,
edit: reinstalled drivers and tv now goes into 1080@30hz.... @60hz the lines come back

any ideas? could the 4850 video card be defective? which version drivers should i be using for vista64bit?
