LOL! I've actually done that, but only when something's been out for too long and it's become a "science experiment" (i.e. tupperware). But pots and pans, plates, silverware..?
Ah hell, just do what I do in the dorm. I take dishes from the cafeteria and when I need them washed I just bring them back in a bag and dump them, then pick up a clean stack
One term, after we had both sinks full of dirty dishes, we boxed them up and put them out back. They got covered in snow, and in the spring they were gone.

My 1 year old idiot of a dog has started jumping up on the counter and getting stuff out of the sink and cleaning it for me. Its kinda hard to be mad at him for doing it cause it is saving me time .
