Wanna quit drinking soda? Start carrying around a water bottle, like a big nalgene one, and soon you won't have the desire to drink soda once you think about all the sugar and preservatives you're putting into your body as opposed to just water or juice. Worked for me!

Maybe electoshock therapy?

I did stop for about a week after I had a dream that drinking sodas gave me Altzhiemer's disease.

I used to drink at least 2-3 cans per day, usually more when playing a lot of video games. I just gave it up one day, cold turkey. Now I try to have juice in my fridge that I can just grab and drink out of. (Too much effort to pour it into a glass) I'll still have pop when I go out, but I've cut the habit at home, which is where 95% of it was. Finish what you have at home. Don't buy any more. Problem solved.

Alas I live with bigger soda fiends than I am.

Oh, well. Starting Monday I'll never be home anyway.

Yeah, i was going to add something like that. Its A REALLY good Idea to keep bottled water, or a nalgene (sp) bottle in your fridge so you get the "same effect" as pop that it is easy to pickup and go, or just quick.

This thread inspired me to crack open an ice cold can of Dr. Pepper. I haven't had Dr. Pepper in ten or fifteen years.

I still don't really like it.

Ok, that made me laugh. :) Here the thread is talking about quitting, and it inspires someone to take it up again.

I recently started dringking lots of water too - but for another reason: I finally moved out of my parents house and have just realized that food is pretty expensive..........

That said, I've beeen drinking about a gallon a day - and I've never felt better.
