I've played thru Fallout 4 several times

Never encountered Kat until now.
And it was after I killed Gus.

Kat (Fallout 4)

Kat is a traveling merchant who can be encountered in the Commonwealth in 2287. Kat is a young girl roaming the wastes as a merchant, protected by her sentry bot, Gus. She sells a small assortment of junk and a small amount of ammunition. Meeting her is a random encounter. If one kills her robot...

I've only maybe 30 hours or so of the game under my belt; never finished it. However I did enjoy the game + Far Harbor DLC

Random encounters are always interesting though.

She was bugged for me a few times after the game's launch. I'd find Gus destroyed (wasn't me) or just Gus roaming around without her. After my last play-through (run #7 I believe and heavily modded), I found her as she was being attacked.

The 4 settlers and the preacher, burying their friend Blake and holding a brief memorial for him. Close to the beach southeast of National Guard Training Yard.
